As a maintained Catholic school, we stand proud of our strong Christian Faith and values which is demonstrated throughout daily life at our school. By our very nature as a Catholic school, we are inclusive, with the message of Christ its centre.

The presence of the Liturgical calendar is evident within our school life, particularly within our assemblies and school masses held throughout the year. Each of our assemblies focus on these liturgical themes, teaching the children about their faith, Jesus Christ and the Gospel, through the medium of song, dance and drama. At St. Ronan's, we aim to develop relationships with the home and the parish, creating a triad of faith, therefore we invite our parents and members of our parish to religious celebrations held in the school.

As you walk along the corridors of St. Ronan's, our display boards capture, pictorially, the children's faith development. The children are given opportunities to be prayerful throughout the school day, nurturing their relationship with God.

The children embark on their sacramental journey in primary 3, through their enrolment ceremony. In primary 4, the children receive the sacrament of Confession and Holy Communion. In preparation for these sacraments, they participate in a religious retreat and The Children of the Eucharist Programme' which aim to bring the children to a greater understanding of the Jesus Christ and the Eucharist. Finally, the primary 7 children show commitment to their faith, at the final stage of their primary education, through receiving the sacrament of Confirmation and accepting the Holy Spirit into their lives.

Here, at St. Ronan's, we are hugely committed to fulfilling our Christian calling as missioners of Christ. Our school's charity is Children Helping Children' and we encourage the children to help out a little at home allowing them to then share a little of their own earnings to improve the lives of others.

At the beginning of October this, we led the first of the Family Masses organised by Newry Parish where the our P4 - P7 children took part actively in the Mass at St. Colman's & St. Patrick's Cathedral. The church was filled with the families of St. Ronan's and many other families in the parish, which we hope will continue throughout the year. These masses will take place in Newry Cathedral at 12pm and the dates are as follows:

10/11/24, 8/12/24, 12/01/25, 9/02/25, 16/03/25, 06/04/25, 1/06/25.
