A Very Special Visit to Our School!
Today our School Council and Eco Council had the fantastic opportunity to welcome Newry Mayor Philip Campbell along with Danielle Begley, the Biodiversity Officer for Newry, Mourne and Down District Council.
The children were brilliant hosts! They asked Councillor Campbell lots of thoughtful, interesting questions, and he took the time to answer each one. It was a wonderful chance for our pupils to learn more about local leadership and how decisions are made in our community.
Danielle also shared her incredible knowledge about the amazing plants and animals that can be found right in Newry. The children were fascinated to learn just how much biodiversity surrounds us and why it’s so important to protect it.
To top off an already exciting visit, the children were treated to gift bags and sweets. A lovely surprise that made their day even more special!
A massive thank you to Councillor Campbell and Danielle for giving up their time. It was such a worthwhile and inspiring experience for our pupils, and we are very grateful.
