Outdoor Learning Day 2026
Today we took our learning outside and became “tree detectives”! Working in teams, the children set out to find the oldest tree on our school grounds.
Each group had an important role to play – from holding the measuring stick and wrapping the measuring tape around the tree to calculate its circumference, to using calculators to divide by 2.5 and estimate the tree’s age.
It was fantastic to see such teamwork, problem-solving, and enthusiasm in action. A brilliant, hands-on way to combine maths, science and outdoor learning – and lots of fun too!
