Brief History

St Ronan's is a Catholic Maintained Primary School that was opened in 1994 to meet the demands of a growing population in the north east of Newry.
It has now established itself as a caring educational community placing strong emphasis on the very close links between the school, home and community.
The valuable role which parents play in assisting the work which takes place in school underpins the ideals which we are continually striving to achieve.
The school wishes to accept pupils whose parents and guardians are in agreement with the philosophy and aims of the school as outlined in the School Profile published in June 1993.
The Board of Governors is conscious of its responsibilities to meet the legal requirements placed upon it by the Education Reform (Northern Ireland) Order 1989 in relation to the curriculum.
Since its opening before the Jubilee year, St Ronan s pupils have excelled in all areas of development and gone on to achieve highly in the world of academics, sport, music and the arts.
